In Thursday's edition of “One on One” on TVN24 Minister of Education Barbara Nowacka (Civic Coalition) referred to the issue of settling the Willa Plus program. – We have carried out checks, we do them in such packages. Out of 10 checks, seven contain irregularities that result in the rejection of the settlement. At the moment, we already have over three million in revenue in the budget, and ten in the process – she stated.

– However, strangely, the money managed to reach those who submitted applications on the last day, in the last hours. And strangely, among these beneficiaries there can be people like Mr. Rydzyk. This is generally such a specific mechanism of functioning in various programs. This dishonesty, this operation under the finger was unfortunately very clearly visible – she noted.

The Minister of Education, speaking about abuses, also gave the example of an “institution subordinate to the ministry”. – The director travelled on business trips for a million zlotys. He flew out a million zlotys in three years, while taking advantage of the open door to improve his scientific competences. I do not really understand the need to promote the Erasmus+ programme in Honolulu. It is beyond my understanding – she admitted. She confirmed that she was referring to the former general director of the Foundation for the Development of the Education System (FRSE), Paweł Poszytek.

The vice-chair of the Left Caucus, Anita Kucharska-Dziedzic, stated that “the wheels of justice grind slowly”. – It is very easy to make an accusation, but it must be proven. Therefore, if subsequent ministers can show irregularities after inspections and audits, now it will be time for the prosecutor's office – she said.
She pointed out that “we also have NIK reports that were ignored by the previous government when it comes to such violations”. – At the moment, the prosecutor's office has a lot of additional work – she noted.
– The investigations will probably last for several months to gather all the documents, so we can expect the first verdicts in a year or two. It's not about saying that they stole, but proving it and so that the courts can put them in prison based on the collected evidence – she added.
