The driver of the Audi lost control of the car, hit the energy-intensive barriers, drove a bit further in the opposite lane, and then – according to the police – flew over the track and overturned. What was happening on the road can be seen in the published monitoring recording from Puchaczów (Lubelskie Voivodeship). The 42-year-old driver was drunk. “He was very lucky,” officials said.

On Sunday (March 26), after 1 p.m., police officers were notified that a passenger car had rolled over in the town of Puchaczów in the Łęczyński district.

“According to the officers, the driver of the Audi driving from Puchaczów lost control of the vehicle, damaged the sign and energy-intensive barriers, drove to the opposite lane, flew across the track and then the vehicle rolled over” – informs senior aspirant Magdalena Krasna from the Poviat Police Headquarters in Łęczna in a message.

It turned out that a 42-year-old resident of the Łęczyński district had over 2.7 per mille of alcohol in his body. He was taken to the hospital.

“He was very lucky, because nothing serious happened to him. After the tests, he was placed in a police cell. The police seized his driving license and vehicle registration certificate” – the policewoman points out.

The man was charged with driving while intoxicated. This is punishable by up to two years in prison. In addition, the court imposes a driving ban for at least three years in such cases.

In addition, it also has to take into account the painful financial consequences. The court obligatorily imposes a cash benefit on such a driver in the amount of PLN 5,000 to PLN 60,000.
