Up to three years in prison and a hefty fine are facing a 41-year-old and a 44-year-old who sat drunk at the controls of a motorboat in Puławy (Lubelskie). The younger had 2.2 per mille and the older 2.4 per mille of alcohol in his system. They were detained and, after sobering up, heard the charges.

A report of a motorboat zigzagging and “doing U-turns” was received by the police officer on duty in Puławy on the night from Friday to Saturday. – According to the report, the motorboat was trying to enter the port channel in the Puławy marina by maneuvering in an uncontrolled manner. At one point, the boat came so close to the quay that it snapped the line from the fishing rod of one of the fishermen sitting there – said Commissioner Ewa Rejn-Kozak, press officer for the Puławy police.

When they reached the dock, uniformed officers were already waiting for them on the jetty.
