A 24-year-old from the commune of Puławy (Lubelskie Voivodeship) made a bet with his friends for an energy drink that he would get out of the car while driving and stand with his feet on the door holding the roof rail. The recording showing the exploits of the young driver affected the police inbox “Stop Aggression Road”. The police identified the driver, charged him, confiscated the driver’s license and referred the case to court.
A video was sent to the inbox “Stop Aggression Road” of the Poviat Police Headquarters in Puławy, in which you can see how the driver of a Volvo passenger car, driving through the intersection of Partyzantow and Norwida streets, gets out of the steering wheel while driving, stands with his feet on the door and grabs the railing with his hands roof. The recording also shows that the driver, while performing the maneuver, does not give way to a cyclist on a bicycle crossing. “The information contained in the notification shows that the incident took place on Wednesday (July 19) just after 7 p.m.,” the Puławy police said.

The police determined that the car immortalized in the recording belongs to a resident of the Puławy commune, and the car was driven by his 24-year-old son.
“The young man was questioned and heard three charges: using the vehicle in a way that endangered the safety of people inside and outside the vehicle, failure to give way to a bicycle rider on a cyclist crossing and the driver’s failure to use seat belts” – said Commissioner Ewa Rejn-Kozak from the police in Parczew.
He did it because he bet on an energy drink
According to the police, the man admitted to the alleged acts, explaining his behavior by betting with friends who were traveling with him. “As it turns out, a 24-year-old driving with two girls made a bet with them for an energy drink that while driving he would get out from behind the wheel and stand on the window, holding on to the roof. To do this, he set the cruise control in the car and, standing on the door in the open window, drove the entire intersection” – said Commissioner Ewa Rejn-Kozak.
He is facing 30,000. PLN fine and 20 penalty points
The police arrested the 24-year-old driver’s license, and after questioning him and presenting the charges against him, they referred the case to court. The driver is liable to a fine of up to PLN 30,000 and a ban on driving. “After the verdict in this case becomes final, additional penalty points will be added to his account, of which the young driver may receive as many as 20 for the committed acts” – said Commissioner Rejn-Kozak.
