Police officers are explaining the causes of the tragic accident that took place on Saturday in Rabsztyn near Olkusz (Małopolskie Voivodeship). For reasons that are still unclear, the 27-year-old driver suddenly veered into the opposite lane on a curve and collided head-on with a bus. The man did not survive.

The accident happened around 10 am on Saturday (July 1) in Rabsztyn in the Olkusz district. The 27-year-old Volvo driver suddenly swerved to the opposite lane on a bend and collided head-on with a bus that was going from Olkusz towards Wolbrom.

“The 27-year-old Volvo driver died on the spot. The sobriety test carried out by the police showed that the bus driver was sober. The suburban bus was traveling without passengers,” the Małopolska police said in a Monday release.

The disruption at the scene of the accident lasted three hours.
