Even 10 years in prison may be imposed on a driver who, having more than four per mille of alcohol in his body, caused a collision on one of the roads in Racibórz (Silesian Voivodeship), and tried to bribe the policemen who arrived at the scene, promising that he would build garden gazebos for them for free.

The incident took place on Tuesday (July 11) at Rybnicka Street in Racibórz. The driver of the Volkswagen did not keep a safe distance and hit the back of an Opel driven by a 56-year-old woman. Police officers from the traffic patrol sent to the scene smelled alcohol from the driver during the conversation. The study showed that a 42-year-old resident of the Racibórz poviat has more than four per mille of alcohol in his body.

He offered to build garden sheds

“The man made more trouble during the further conversation with the uniformed officers. He proposed to the policemen that in exchange for ‘forgetting’ about the whole case, they could count on the construction of three wooden garden gazebos for free. The uniformed officers informed him that trying to bribe a policeman is a crime, but he ignored their warnings and continued to repeat his proposal” – reported the policemen from Racibórz.
