We are in the final stretch until the elections. And these elections will decide what Poland will be like – said Rafał Trzaskowski in Radom. The deputy head of PO and president of Warsaw said that “freedom” was “at stake in these elections.” – Freedom also means freedom from the intervention of the authorities that want to interfere with our lives, that want to indoctrinate our children, that want to teach us how to live, even though they are completely disconnected from reality – he said.

On Tuesday afternoon, an open meeting of the city’s residents was held in Radom with the vice-chairman of the Civic Platform, the mayor of Warsaw, Rafał Trzaskowski.

– I don’t want to talk all the time about the party that is in power, because I dream of a Poland in which they are not a point of reference. I dream of a Poland where we can talk about specifics, where we can talk about how we imagine the future. And that is why these elections are so fundamental, because they are about whether we will be able to talk about the future in the language of specifics, whether Poland will be a country that is smiling, European, open, focused primarily on those values that are important to us. as important to us as tolerance or freedom, he continued.

He also talked about the value of “freedom”. In his opinion, it constitutes “the stakes of these elections.” – Freedom also means freedom from the intervention of the authorities that want to interfere with our lives, that want to indoctrinate our children, that want to teach us how to live, even though they are completely disconnected from reality. And these elections are about freedom. About freedom from the oppressive power that tries to decide for us, he said.

Trzaskowski on KO’s economic promises

Trzaskowski talked about a list of 100 “specifics” announced by the Civic Coalition for the first 100 days after taking power. As he said, Polish companies today are exhausted by the fact that “they have to pay (…) income tax before the money is transferred to their account.” – This is one of our specifics. The tax will be paid by entrepreneurs only when the money is transferred to their account. There are many more such details. Entrepreneurs must have the right to leave and that is why we propose the right to leave – a week of leave for all entrepreneurs – he enumerated.

He also recalled other KO program items, including: limiting inspections in companies, sick leave paid from the first day by ZUS, increasing the tax-free amount to PLN 60,000.

“We do not want a country in which the ruling party supports the Church and the Church supports the party.”

The deputy head of PO also said that PiS “deliberately started to limit the freedom of citizens, started attacking us on purpose and was targeting someone else every now and then.” – They target teachers, they target women, they target doctors, all those they don’t get along with, he said.

– That is why we clearly say that a woman has the right, and only she, to decide about her life and health. And that is why we are talking about liberalizing the anti-abortion law, he said.

Another issue, he said, is “the issue of separation of Church and state.” – We have great respect for tradition – he argued, adding that “there are very different attitudes in the Polish Church and there are indeed such people in the Polish Church, such hierarchs in the Polish Church, who actually work for the weaker.”

– There must be respect for tradition, but it must be clearly stated that in a modern country the Church and the state must be separated. We do not want a country in which the ruling party supports the Church and the Church supports the ruling party. The church should have absolutely nothing to do with the state, said Trzaskowski. In this context, he also declared that the Church Fund would be liquidated.
