In one of the tenement houses in Radom, the decomposing corpses of six cats were found. A 26-year-old man was arrested in the case. According to the prosecutor’s office, in the fall of 2022, the man left animals in a rented apartment, unattended and without food.

The odor emanating from one of the apartments in a tenement house at ul. Moniuszko disturbed the neighbors. – After calling the services and entering the apartment, it turned out that there are bodies of six cats in a state of advanced decomposition in the apartment – ​​said the spokeswoman for the District Prosecutor’s Office in Radom, Agnieszka Borkowska.

Charges and arrest

Investigators determined that the 26-year-old man who rented the apartment had not appeared at home since September 2022. – According to the opinion of the veterinarian, the cats were deprived of proper care, food and fresh air for a long time, which led to their death – said Borkowska. The 26-year-old was arrested. He was charged with cruelty to animals. It is punishable by up to five years in prison. The court, at the request of the prosecutor’s office, placed the man in pre-trial detention.
