On Monday morning, the operation on the Vistula will be resumed. They will search for a young man who disappeared under the water near Otwock.
The incident occurred on Sunday on a wild beach located in the town of Radwanków Szlachecki. The services were alerted after 5 p.m.
They tried to cross the Vistula River
– We received information about a drowning man. Initial information indicates that three men were crossing the Vistula River. Suddenly, they began to sink under the water. Two of them made it to shore on their own, one did not – Kamil Sobótka from the press department of the Warsaw Police Headquarters told us on Monday morning.
He added that the missing man is “around 20 years old”. – The search was conducted on Sunday until late evening and will resume on Monday morning – he announced.
Tragic weekend
It was a tragic weekend on the waters in and around Warsaw.
Two people drowned in Lake Czerniakowskie. In the afternoon, a 45-year-old man drowned there. An hour later, the services received a report that another person had gone missing in the water. The search continued until Sunday. Before noon, the services found the body of a 48-year-old man.
A tragedy also occurred on Lake Zegrze. A man drowned there late Sunday afternoon. A quick rescue operation and a chain of life created by beachgoers did not help.
