The police detained a driver who was driving under the influence of alcohol. The 42-year-old breathed three permille, and moments earlier he had bought two bottles of vodka in a store. He told the officers that he drank alcohol for breakfast.

The incident took place on Thursday in Radzanów. An anonymous person alerted the Mława police officer with information about the suspicious behavior of the driver, who clearly had no control over the vehicle.

“The intervening road traffic patrol, moments after the report, stopped a suspicious driver in a parking lot, near one of the stores. The 42-year-old had over three per mille of alcohol. In the store he bought two bottles of vodka, which he kept within reach. As he stated in a conversation with the police , he drank his second breakfast with alcohol,” the police say in a statement.

The car is secured against future fines

The man was taken into police custody. His car was secured against future punishment. The driver lost his driving license in four categories. On Friday (May 17), he was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. He faces a heavy fine and up to three years in prison.

“The immediate reaction of an anonymous witness prevented the danger. Such reports save health and lives. Just call the emergency number 112 and provide the information,” the officers remind.
