The KO candidate said he was “against new taxes.” – It was PiS who introduced taxes, and you proved yesterday that the Lord did not know that this was a tax. Because you mixed up. First you were in favor disaster above three apartments. If the Lord contributed that the Lord finally had these three apartments, then the Lord simply changed his mind at the moment – said Trzaskowski.

– you will raise taxes, because you finished public finances together with Donald Tusk. You will be and raise taxes and pensionsand you already take 14. Retirees – said Karol Nawrocki.

Nawrocki and a question about the catastral tax

Karol Nawrocki in a Thursday conversation with Sławomir Mentzen declared that as a president he would not sign a law introducing new taxes. – And the catasty? Mentzen reacted, to which Nawrocki replied: – Not for catastral tax.

– First of all, for those who of course have their own family homes – added Nawrocki. Mentzen began to ask: – And for whom? (…) I understand that you are against a crash for someone who has one house, but what about other cases? How does someone have four apartments or five?. After this question, Nawrocki from the previous declaration began to withdraw.

– So you would sign the act introducing the catastra, let us assume from 10, 15, 20 apartments? Menzten continued. “I don't know that,” Nawrocki replied. “But how do you know, since you just told me that you would not agree to any tax?” Menzten reacted.

Financing election promises and a vat gap

In the next part, Rafał Trzaskowski asked Karol Nawrocki about his plan to finance his election promises. – It's all huge money together. If you want to finance it so as not to enlarge this budget holesfor which PiS is responsible, and which he hid through various funds – asked the PO candidate.

– I am very happy that you read my tax contract with Poles. And he analyzed him. I am glad that my lecture on the Lord's taxes. We have already got used to this that always when Donald Tusk returns to power, the VAT mafias are coming back. And you don't know that either. The Lord does not know many things, but you do not know that the VAT gap is really tens of billion Polish zlotys. It seems that Exactly PLN 45 billion of Polish zlotys – Nawrocki answered.

– And the first three points from my program will be realized from the VAT gap. Because the seventh point of my contract, dear lord, tax with Poles is budget armor – said Nawrocki. He added that it was the PiS government under the leadership Mateusz Morawiecki. – And when you leave the power of you who drain the Polish and do not care about public finances, it will probably be the money again – said Nawrocki.

VAT gap

On Wednesday, the Minister of Finance Andrzej Domański wrote on Platform X that “Already in the first year of rule we stopped the growth of the VAT gap during PiS rule. We observe, draw conclusions and react. Thanks to this the VAT gap fell from 13.5 percent in 2023 to 6.9 percent in 2024.”

Last year, the Ministry of Finance reported that the VAT gap increased from 7.3 percent. in 2022 to 15.8 percent in 2024. However, the deputy finance minister Jarosław Neneman told PAP that the VAT gap was overestimated last year.
