Saving money on children is the hardest thing for parents, although more and more of them admit that they have to learn it.

Parents more and more often become specialists in the art of choice, because they have to give up something, but Pola and Nina may not have a clue about it. – I don’t think we can save on children either, it’s probably the case that we save more on ourselves – believes Katarzyna Dietrich-Paturalska, Pola and Nina’s mother.

The effect of government support?

In 2022, the fewest children were born in Poland since the Second World War. – The main reasons for the decrease in the number of children are the lack of a suitable partner, the breakdown of social ties and the lack of a sense of security – explains Michał Kot. Those who decided to start a family with children paid one-fifth more in 2022 for food and housing for each child. Costs related to transport and communications as well as education increased by more than 13 percent. Together, these four areas account for almost 80 percent of the cost of upbringing. – We were just thinking about a third child, but I think that the economic factor is important here, that, well, we don’t know – Katarzyna Ditrich-Paturalska explains.
