The University of St Andrews, Scotland, outranked the UK’s two best universities – Oxford and Cambridge. Never before has another university won a 30-year ranking, or any other UK university ranking.
The University of St Andrews, located in the Scottish County of Fife, is consistently at the top of the rankings of British universities and in recent years has reduced the point loss to Oxford and Cambridge, but during the COVID-19 pandemic, when all universities had to switch to distance learning for a long time , recorded – in contrast to the competition – only a slight decrease in the category of student satisfaction with teaching. This allowed him to come to the top spot.
132 universities on the ranking list
– The achievement of the University of St Andrews, which is first place in our ranking, should not be underestimated. This is not a coincidence – commented Alastair McCall, editor of The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide.
In the ranking of “The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide”, in addition to student satisfaction, factors such as the quality of teaching, the quality of research, the percentage of graduating students, career prospects of graduates, and the amount of tuition fees are taken into account.
In this year’s edition, 132 universities were classified. The following places were taken by the University of Oxford, the University of Cambridge, Imperial College London, London School of Economics, Durham University, University College London and the University of Warwick.
