Recipients in parts of the country received an RCB SMS alert. The warning concerns strong winds and will remain in force throughout the day and next night.
The Government Security Center warns against strong winds. SMS warnings were sent on Friday morning to recipients from the southern counties of the voivodeship: Silesian, Lesser Poland and Podkarpackie.
“Attention! Strong wind forecast today and at night (20/21/10). Possible power outages. Secure items that may be carried away by the wind,” the text message read.
Experts warned that power outages were possible. They also appealed to secure items that may be carried away by the wind. It was recommended to move vehicles to safe places, be careful when driving, and prepare replacement lighting. During difficult weather, you should ensure the safety of your animals, especially those outdoors, RCB reminded.
What is an RCB alert
Alert RCB is an SMS threat warning system. On RCB alert no need to sign up. People who find themselves in the area of a potential life-threatening crisis will receive a short text message (SMS) on their mobile phone with information about the type of threat, its location, and the source of the warning. It does not matter which operator we have concluded a contract with.
The amendment to the Telecommunications Law and certain other acts of June 11, 2018 imposes on all operators the obligation to immediately send a message to all users in the area specified by the RCB director. Messages are issued only in exceptional situations that may pose a real threat to human life and health.
