After the Marshal of the Sejm, Elżbieta Witek, conducted a reassumption of the vote, the opposition wants to dismiss her from office. Jarosław Gowin, president of the Covenant and until recently deputy prime minister, said that his party “probably” would support the motion in this matter. He stated that there were more and more indications that the marshal had “broken the law”.
Last Wednesday, during the session of the Sejm, which adopted, inter alia, the anti-TVN law, there was a controversial reassumption of the vote on the motion to adjourn the session. First, the Sejm accepted this motion, but after the break extended several times, the Sejm Marshal Elżbieta Witek from Law and Justice ordered a reassumption of the vote, which was supported by 229 deputies, with one vote against and one abstention. In another vote, the Sejm rejected the motion to adjourn the session.
Marshal Witek, explaining then her decision on the reassumption, said that during the break she “consulted five lawyers” on the subject. On Monday, the Sejm Information Center published these opinions. Earlier, Witek showed them live on government television. All five opinions are dated April 2018.

Gowin: the Agreement will probably support the dismissal of Marshal Witek
The situation was commented on Wednesday by Jarosław Gowin, president of the Covenant and, until recently, deputy prime minister in the government of the United Right.
– We all knew that good parliamentary morals had been broken in the Sejm hall. However, today there is more and more evidence that Marshal Witek, unfortunately, broke the law. I say it with regret, with sadness, he said. – The agreement probably due to the behavior of Marshal Witek will decide to support the motion for her dismissal – he added.
According to the president of the Agreement, “reassumption was a breach of the basic, most elementary standards of democracy”. – On August 11, unfortunately, we were dealing with partyism at its worst – he assessed.
