Millions of zlotys to be divided and included in the budget. For example, the budget of the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland is the highest in history. Expenditures in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland are also record high, exceeding PLN 2 billion. MPs are now deciding what public money will be spent on this year.
The budget of the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland in 2024 is to be as much as PLN 11 million higher than in 2023. This amounts to over PLN 274 million. It will also be the highest in history. The law firm justifies this, among other things, with an increase in salaries and the organization of state ceremonies and celebrations of various anniversaries. – The project that has been submitted (…) is planned adequately to the needs – emphasizes Piotr Ćwik from the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland.
Members of the new government coalition are asking whether cuts are possible. In the context of translations by office officials, they cite the example of the celebration of the 105th anniversary of the Greater Poland Uprising. – The president limited himself to sending a letter for the celebrations, so the justification of the expenses of the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland related to state ceremonies and the celebration of various anniversaries on December 28 looked a bit distasteful – explains Jarosław Urbaniak, PO MP.
Lots of expenses
– I do not exclude, and I even assume, that in at least a few cases such spending cuts may occur – says Janusz Cichoń, PO MP and chairman of the Public Finance Committee.
So far, however, no amendment has been officially submitted to the committee chairman on this matter. The budget of the Prime Minister’s office is also record high, exceeding PLN 2 billion. The draft budget, which the MPs worked on during the meeting of the Public Finance Committee, was prepared by the government of Mateusz Morawiecki. Donald Tusk’s government only submits self-amendments to it.
