The Ministry of Finance announced that the revenues from the “monkey” fee in the entire last year amounted to PLN 581 million, and in the first half of 2024 alone it will be close to PLN 340 million. The “monkey” fee is regulated by the provisions of the Act on Upbringing in Sobriety and Counteracting Alcoholism. An entrepreneur conducting wholesale sales of alcoholic beverages who supplies an entrepreneur with a permit for retail sale of alcohol will pay an additional fee of PLN 25 for each full liter of 100%. alcohol in packaging for 300 ml. “To calculate the amount of the fee due, multiply the tax base by the fee rate, e.g. 2 liters of 100% alcohol x PLN 25 = PLN 50,” we read. About changes in the “monkey” fee on air Radio Zet Finance Minister Andrzej DomaÅ„ski said a few months ago. He did not specify in what direction the change would go, but added that it could happen as early as 2025.
