The A4 motorway patrol near the Rudzieniec commune (Śląskie) noticed a dog tied to a barrier. Police officers from Gliwice are looking for people who may have witnessed the animal's abandonment or are able to help identify its owner.
The incident occurred around 9 a.m. on Saturday. At the 287th kilometer of the A4 motorway towards Wrocław, near the Rudziniec commune, after the Lany junction, a motorway patrol noticed a black, medium-sized dog tied to a barrier.
The policemen called to the scene took care of the animal until shelter employees arrived. They watered and fed the dog. They described him as “polite, well-behaved, following orders and eager to have fun.”
“We appeal to people who witnessed the above incident, have footage from car cameras or are able to help identify the owner to contact the Motorway Police Station in Gliwice by phone. 47 851 34 00 or 112” – said the Provincial Police Headquarters in Katowice.
Abandoning an animal by its owner or another person under its care is one of the forms of animal abuse, which is punishable by imprisonment.
