It’s just a political chutzpah that is supposed to increase the advantage of one of the parties – said Paulina Hennig-Kloska (Polska 2050) in “Fakty po Faktach”. Krzysztof Gawkowski (Left) stated that PiS “will pump its parliamentary campaign through the referendum campaign”.
On Friday Law and Justice published the first in a series of spots regarding the referendum that is to be held with elections parliamentary meetings on October 15. – The first question will be: Do you support the sale of state-owned enterprises? – announced the president of PiS.
“They will not succeed, because Poles are really sensitive to such manipulations”
MPs Paulina Hennig-Kloska from Poland 2050 and Krzysztof Gawkowski from the Left in “Fakty po Faktach” commented on the idea of holding a referendum and the first of its questions.
According to Hennig-Kloski, nothing is happening that would justify raising this issue in the vote. “What they are doing is simply an attempt to dishonestly interfere with the outcome of the election,” she said.
– I don’t think anyone, especially after the first question, pretends that this referendum is supposed to decide something, that citizens are supposed to make a specific decision there. This is ordinary political chutzpah, which is supposed to increase the advantage of one of the parties in the race for seats, you can say, in the Sejm, in the parliament, and ultimately in the government – she added.
In the opinion of the MP, “they will not succeed, because Poles are really sensitive to such manipulations and such political chutzpah.”
She also said that the first referendum question we heard “ridiculates the whole idea of a referendum”. In addition, she pointed out, the rulers “just recalled their biggest scandal of the last year, i.e. the sale of Lotos”. – And today they will explain it again, because many questions remain unanswered when it comes to this sale – said Hennig-Kloska.
Gawkowski: PiS will pump up the parliamentary campaign through the referendum campaign
Gawkowski assessed that the elections would not be equal, because PiS “will pump its parliamentary campaign on steroids through the referendum campaign.”
He also argued that “the one who should get a red card for privatization in Poland in recent years is Kaczyński and his team.” – They gave part of Orlen to Saudi Aramco, they gave part of Lotos to Hungarian MOL. This Law and Justice did everything to make us talk about it today. And it was us who learned during this privatization, this sale, this takeover, this merger, that many billions of zlotys could be earned more from it, and someone simply did not see the offers – he continued.

The Left MP assessed that “if Kaczyński was serious about the referendum and wanted to ask Poles about problems, he should ask about inflation“. – He should ask the Poles about the high prices, about the state security and border security. He does not ask about it, because he is ashamed of it. Kaczyński is ashamed of having made many mistakes, and he is trying to win the elections with referendum questions – he said.
– Will do as in Hungary, as (Victor) Orbán. He will combine one election with another, he will show that these are some questions about important matters and he will convince Poles that these are key problems for Poland. They are not, he added.
