Renata Łęska-Pluta, a long-time journalist of Telewizja Polska and a parliamentary reporter, died at the age of 71. She was a “legend in the parliamentary corridors”, emphasizes TVP.

Information about the journalist's death was confirmed by TVP and the Chancellery of the Sejm. Renata Łęska-Pluta died on Wednesday morning at the age of 71 after fighting a serious illness.

Łęska-Pluta managed the production of Polish Television in the Sejm for almost 30 years. She worked, among others, as a reporter specializing in economic topics and as a long-time publisher of “Wiadomości”. The journalist was also, among others, member of the jury selecting the best and worst parliamentarians, which was initiated by the weekly “Polityka”.

“The legend of the parliamentary corridors”

TVP reminds that she was “a legend in the parliamentary corridors, 'journalistic corner' and 'table'. Always well-versed, she knew all the nooks and crannies of the Polish parliament. MPs and senators respected her regardless of her seniority, party affiliation or changing terms of office.” As added, she was always helpful, especially to young journalists, liked and appreciated.

“She was always kind, cheerful and willing to help. Renia, thank you for the years we spent together in the building at Wiejska Street,” said the Chancellery of the Sejm.
