Results of local government elections in Szczecin. Krzystek wins in the first round

Piotr Krzystek remains in his position and, running with the support of the Civic Coalition, will govern Szczecin for the fifth time. The politician, who has been in office since 2006, won the election with a result of 60.43 percent, leaving his opponents behind.

According to official data from the National Electoral Commission, Piotr Krzystek, who ran for the last re-election, won with 60.43 percent of the votes. Zbigniew Bogucki from Law and Justice took second place with 26.96 percent. In third place was Bogdan Jaroszewicz from the Left with 8.70 percent. The least support was obtained by Dariusz Olech from the Confederation and Nonpartisan Local Government – 3.92 percent.

He will rule for a fifth term

Piotr Krzystek has been the mayor of the city since 2006. This will be his fifth term in office. He ran with the support of the Civic Platform and Poland 2050. His election slogan was “A proven president. Szczecin is better every day.”

During the campaign, he emphasized that he was continuing a program that had been clear for years. – This is about creating a modern space for living and functioning in Szczecin, a friendly space, close to water and a space where new businesses can develop – he said.

Krzystek said that many problems had been solved together in recent years. – This is not only the merit of the president, but of the entire staff of people, our councilors and all those who cooperated with us to make Szczecin better and more friendly to its residents every day – he emphasized.
