Agnieszka Rupniewska faced the incumbent president of Zabrze for the second time – but this time she managed to defeat Małgorzata Mańka-Szulik. After four terms, the veteran is stepping down.

The National Electoral Commission provided data from all electoral districts in Zabrze. They show that Rupniewska won 57.85 percent votes. People voted for Małgorzata Mańka-Szulik 42.15 percent voters.

The new president gained an advantage already in the first round in which she won 27.44 percent votes. Mańka-Szulik came in second place with 21.73 percent The situation in which two candidates advanced to the second round was unusual on a national scale.
