Michał Wawrykiewicz, speaking about KO's victory, said that it shows that “the government's current policy is accepted by voters.”

Third Road received 6.91 percent. and 3 seats and the Left – 6.3 percent. and 3 seats. The turnout was 40.65 percent.

– And it also shows that the government's current policy is accepted by voters. But what is more important in these elections is that the majority of Poles strongly supported the continuation of strong European integration, building a common Europe, a safe and prosperous Europe, and not the disintegration of the Union, as the Confederation or PiS says, he said.

Scheuring-Wielgus: We are not satisfied with this result

When asked about the reason for the Left's poor result, Scheuring-Welgus said that “there are many reasons.” – We are facing, I think, quite an open discussion within our party, so I wouldn't really like to break it down now, but polarization, i.e. the two main players – Civic Platform and Law and Justice, is certainly never to our advantage. Justice. It always backfires on us, she added. – The second thing is that we were also quite behind after the local government elections and we moved from the elections to the October elections, local government elections and European elections – she pointed out.

– We prepared as much as we could. Of course, we hoped for more. We are not satisfied with this result, and we say that clearly. Nobody here says it's great. It could of course be better. I was really counting on the mandates of Professor Belka and Prime Minister Cimoszewicz. It didn't work, said Scheuring-Wielgus.

She was asked whether there would be any settlements or any personnel changes in the Left.

– There will definitely be a conversation in the near future, I think among the management board, because we agreed that after the three elections that took place, we would sit down at the table and settle what happened – she said.

She also said that “everyone is aware that we have party elections next year.” – According to the statute, it will be possible to change the authorities – she added.
