Riley Strain‘s family members are sending a message to supporters.

After the College of Missouri scholar was found dead in Nashville’s Cumberland River March 22, his mother Michelle Whiteid issued a tearful plea.

“I simply ask that you simply mommas on the market, hug your infants tight tonight please,” she mentioned in a press conference hours after his physique was recovered. “Please for me, simply hug your infants tight tonight. And once more, thanks, thanks for sharing our story.”

An investigation was launched on March 9 after Riley, who was visiting Nashville together with his fraternity brothers, disappeared during a night out. After a two-week search, police confirmed the 22-year-old’s stays had been positioned roughly eight miles from the downtown space.

“It has been an emotional curler coaster,” Riley’s stepfather Chris Whiteid instructed reporters March 22. “We’re fairly grateful for every little thing that you’ve got accomplished for our household, the grace that you’ve got given us, it means rather a lot, greater than you will ever know. We’ve discovered by means of his ordeal that everyone has introduced all the nice to us. We have had a bit of dangerous, you are gonna have that, but it surely has given us religion in people who typically will get clouded by what we’re continually listening to.”
