Riots escape between rival Eritrean teams within the Netherlands | World Information

Automobiles have been set on fireplace as rioting broke out between two rival teams of Eritreans within the Netherlands on Saturday.

Officers used tear gasoline in an try and quell the unrest in The Hague, as rioters torched police automobiles and a bus.

Photographs from the scene confirmed automobiles in flames and dozens of males on the street, some throwing rocks.

“It acquired critically out of hand,” The Hague municipality spokesman Robin Middel stated.

Months earlier, a conflict at an Eritrean pageant within the German metropolis of Giessen left 22 police injured.

Tens of hundreds of individuals have fled Eritrea for Europe, many claiming they had been mistreated by the federal government of President Isaias Afwerki.

The conflicts underscore deep divisions amongst members of the Eritrean diaspora between those that stay near the federal government and people who have fled to reside in exile and strongly oppose him.
