Last night passed more peacefully in France than the previous ones. The grandmother of a teenager killed by a policeman, whose death led to riots, appealed for an end to violence on Sunday.

The convicts, already known to the police, were arrested on the night of June 29-30 in Saint-Germain-les-Corbeil in the department of Essonne for setting fire to barricades and breaking shop windows in the roadway to slow down police activity.

The gendarmes who intervened on the scene in connection with the fire were attacked with firecrackers.
