Iga Świątek has hellishly difficult months behind her and in 2025 she has not won a single title yet. She also failed to change the state of affairs in Madrid during the WTA 1000 tournament, where she defended the title from a year ago. The Polish woman lost in the semi -final with Coco Gauff, which in the later final turned out to be worse than Aryna Sabalenka.

Iga Świątek outside the podium. In this ranking she lacks several points

According to the WTA tournaments, the Polish representative in Madrid collected 390 points for the semi -final in Madrid. This means that she lost 610 “stitches” because she did not achieve a result from a year ago. This, of course, allows her to keep her second place in the main ranking.

However, there is also a WTA Race ranking, i.e. a statement only in 2025, which is a later pass to the struggle in WTA Finals. Of course, Aryna Sabalenka leads in it, and Madison Keys, the Australian Open winner, is the second place. Unfortunately, we will not see the list on the podium. The Polish woman is only fourth.

After the struggle in Madrid, the third place falls on Mirra Andriejew, whose achievements are 2840 gathered since the beginning of the 2025 season. It is the Russian who is ahead of a Polish woman who has 2813 points – 27 less than a younger rival. At the same time, Świątek has a safe, but also a slight advantage over the fifth Jessica Pegul. The difference between players is 330 points.

WTA Race ranking after the Madrid tournament:

  1. Aryna Sabalenka (Belarus) – 4905
  2. Madison Keys (USA) – 3284
  3. Mirra Andriejew (Russia) – 2840
  4. Iga Świątek (Poland) – 2813
  5. Jessica Pegula – 2483
  6. Coco Gouff (USA) – 1948
  7. Elina Switolina (Ukraine) – 1536
  8. Jekaterina Aleksandrowa (Russia) – 1501
  9. Emma Navarro (USA) – 1477
  10. Amanda Anisimova (USA) – 1470

At the moment, a certain qualification for WTA Finals is guaranteed by 7693 points that none of the players have yet reached. This year's struggles will take place in Riyadh on November 1-8, so the situation in the ranking may change hugely.
