A 32-year-old man was lying dead on a provincial road near the town of Nadrzecze (Lubelskie Voivodeship). The police suspected that someone had hit him. After more than two hours, a 70-year-old man reported to the police station and stated that he had hit a pedestrian and fled the scene.
It was before 4 a.m. when a driver delivering bread noticed a man lying on the road. He immediately reported it to the police.
To the place (and that was it on provincial road number 835, near the town of Nadrzecze), an ambulance crew was dispatched. It turned out that the man was dead.
He reported to the police station and admitted that he had hit the pedestrian
“As the police determined, the pedestrian was a 32-year-old man from the BiÅ‚goraj commune. Due to the suspicion that the man was hit by a car, the police began activities related to identifying and detaining the driver who was involved in the accident,” writes Joanna Klimek from the police station in a statement. Just after 6 a.m., a 70-year-old resident of the Biłgoraj district reported to the police station and stated that he had hit a pedestrian and then left the scene.
He was sober
“He also indicated where the Ford he was driving at the time of the accident was. The police found a hidden bus in the forest. The man was detained and placed in police custody, he was sober,” notes Asp. Klimek.
The 32-year-old's body was secured for autopsy. The proceedings are supervised by the District Prosecutor's Office in Biłgoraj.
