The leader of the March of Independence Association, Robert Bąkiewicz, spoke to the participants of the march of nationalists. He said, inter alia, that “there is a war”. – This war is not only the one on the border and the one, perhaps less visible, with Germany, with the European Union, but the war of civilizations is underway – he said. He argued that it was up to us whether we would be a nation “ready to carry the cloister of education, Christianity and Latin civilization to the West”.
He passed through Warsaw on Thursday march of nationalistswhich was state-owned this year. Before the start of the march, the president of the March of Independence Association, Robert Bąkiewicz, spoke to the participants of the event.
He thanked, among others the head of the Office for Combatants and Repressed Persons, Jan Józef Kasprzyk, that he made it possible for the participants to “pass, as befits true patriots, not harassed by the police, not harassed by the President of Warsaw, Rafał Trzaskowski.” He also appealed to the participants to remain safe and responsible and to listen to the announcements of the organizers.
“Poland is under attack from the eastern border by Moscow, which is using Belarus”
During his speech, Bąkiewicz referred to, inter alia, to the situation on the border with Belarus. He said that “today it is the duty of every Polish patriot, every nationalist” to support the Polish state, uniformed services, including the Border Guard, the police and the army.
The leader of the Independence March Association indicated that this year’s celebrations are different. – Of course, we are commemorating the 103rd anniversary of regaining independence. Of course, we remember the victories of the Polish army. We remember the entire history of over a thousand years in Poland. It is very important. But we are also referring today to those events that are happening before our eyes, where Poland is attacked from the eastern border by Moscow, which is using Belarus, he said.
Bąkiewicz: The attack is also underway from the West
The attack – as Bąkiewicz said – “does not only take place from the East, the attack also takes place from the West”. According to him, “we are also attacked by Germany, which uses EU institutions to take away our sovereignty” and “they want to take away our national, cultural and even gender identity”. He also criticized the decision of the Court of Justice of the European Union ordering the suspension of mining in the lignite mine in Turów and the EU’s European Green Deal program.
– We demand from the Polish state that it defends Polish interests in the end – continued Bąkiewicz. He turned to Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, saying that recently in the European Parliament “all – I apologize for these words – this European mob” was spitting on the Polish prime minister. “It’s unworthy,” he said. He added that it was “even more unworthy” that “the rabble, who was from Poland, who spoke Polish, spat on the Polish prime minister.”
In his opinion, “there is a war”. – This war is not only the one on the border and the one, perhaps less visible, with Germany and the European Union, but the war of civilizations is underway – he assessed.
– At the moment, a new world is being put in order, a new order before our eyes. And it will depend on us what the new Poland will look like. Will we only have the anthem and the white-and-red (flag – ed.), Or will we be a strong nation and state, ready to carry the cloister of education, Christianity and Latin civilization to the West. To the West, which mentally, morally and civilizationally does not exist anymore – he said.
Bąkiewicz made a linguistic error in his speech, because it is impossible to carry the “cloister of education”, neither Christianity nor civilization. There is, however, the phrase “to carry the torch of education”, which means to spread and disseminate knowledge.
The cloister, according to the dictionary definition, is a long corridor running around the building along its inner courtyard and separated from it by a row of columns.
Leader of the Independence March: we must restore and rebuild this order
Further, Bąkiewicz said that “the only mainstay and universal foundation on which peace, prosperity, and order can arise, is the Christian order, building the greatest civilization”. “We have to restore and rebuild this order,” he said.
According to him, “now our future is being decided – whether we will be free, or will we be a pariah for others”. – Now we have to build a strong state, a strong nation. Now we must unite the national community, in spite of all divisions, we must unite all of us – said the leader of the Independence March Association.
