A 17-year-old died in a car fire on national road 11 in Rogaszyce near Ostrzeszów (Greater Poland Voivodeship), two more people – including the 19-year-old driver – were taken to hospital. The prosecutor’s office informs about a secured video recording of one of the people driving the car.
The incident took place on the night from Sunday to Monday. The services received information about a burning car in Rogaszyce on national road number 11.
– According to preliminary police findings, on a straight section of the K11 national road outside the built-up area, a 19-year-old resident of Ostrzeszów, driving a BMW car, lost control of the vehicle due to her speed not adjusting to the road conditions, drove off to the right shoulder and then to a roadside meadow, where the car started burning – said the press officer of the Ostrzeszów police, Senior Asst. Magdalena Hańdziuk.

She added: – There were two passengers in the car, apart from the driver. One of them, a 17-year-old resident of the Ostrzeszów commune, died on the spot as a result of the incident, while the other passenger, a 19-year-old resident of Ostrzeszów, was taken to a local hospital.
The driver of the vehicle was sober and was transported to the hospital in Ostrów Wielkopolski.
A recording was secured from the phone of one of the people driving the car
As tvn24.pl informed, the deputy district prosecutor in Ostrzeszów, prosecutor Ireneusz Kaźmierczak, has initiated an investigation. – The police have a recording obtained from the phone of one of the people who was driving the car. There is such a film and it shows, among other things, the car’s odometer, which indicates that the speed was very high – the prosecutor told us.
