Many fans count the time by watching the World Cup. The first world championship was held in 1930. Since then – with a break due to World War II – they have been held every four years and are the most important football event in the world. The last time we watched this tournament was in 2022. In Qatar, Argentina defeated France on penalties and won the title of world champions.
From 2026, the tournament will expand. As many as 48 teams will take part in it and for the first time it will be held in three host countries. This includes the United States, Canada and Mexico. We already know that the same will happen four years later.
In 2030, the eyes of the football world will be focused on Portugal, Spain and Morocco – these three countries will organize a unique World Cup. It is unique because, on the occasion of the tournament's centenary, the first three matches will take place in… three other countries: Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay.

He will be 45 years old then. Ronaldo is currently the fifth player in history in terms of matches played at the World Cup – with 22, he is behind only Lionel Messi (26), Lothar Matthaus (25), Miroslav Klose (24) and Paolo Maldini (23). He is the only player in history to score goals in five different World Championship tournaments (2006, 2010, 2014, 2018, 2022).
