Russia. Air defense destroyed a drone on the outskirts of Moscow

The mayor of Moscow announced that Russian air defense systems destroyed a drone launched by Ukrainian forces towards the Russian capital. – According to preliminary information, there are no victims – added Sergei Sobyanin on Telegram. Earlier, Ukraine said it had shot down 29 of the 38 drones launched by the Russians. The attacks damaged an oil depot in Odessa, leaving over 1,500 residents without electricity.

Russian air defense systems were supposed to destroy the one launched by Ukraine drone heading towards Moscow.

– According to preliminary information, there were no damages or casualties, said Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin on Telegram. On Sunday morning, he said emergency services were on the scene.

Sobyanin said the drone was destroyed in Bogorodskoye, which is located on the northeastern outskirts of Moscow.

Ukraine allegedly shot down 29 drones launched by Russia

As the BBC highlights, Moscow’s announcement came after Ukraine said it had shot down 29 of the 38 Iranian Shahed drones launched by Russia last night.

Russian drones hit infrastructure in Ukraine in an overnight attack that caused power outages in more than 400 towns and villages in the south, southeast and north of the country, Ukrainian officials said Saturday. The attacks led to damage to the oil depot in Odessaleaving over 1,500 residents without electricity.

On Saturday, the president of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky praised the Air Force for shooting down many drones. He congratulated the air force for shooting down 29 of 38 Iranian Shahed drones in several regions of Ukraine. They started on Friday evening and ended on Saturday morning.

In his speech, President Zelensky said: “Your accuracy, guys, means the life of Ukraine.” He also warned that as winter approaches, Russia will try to increase the strength of its attacks. He predicts that Russia may stockpile missiles for a winter attack on Ukrainian energy infrastructure.
