Aleksei Navalny has already received 30 reprimands since he was imprisoned in a penal colony. The Russian opposition activist, who has been serving a prison sentence since March, called for a vote in the parliamentary elections against the ruling United Russia party.
In an entry that appeared on Instagram on Tuesday, Russian opposition activist Alexei Navalny reported 30 reprimands and that reports about his behavior were following him “in the penitentiary institutions of the Volodymyr Oblast”.
Navalny is serving his sentence in Pokrow, but was temporarily transferred to another penal colony in Włodzimierz. According to the independent television station, Dożd, due to reprimands, Navalny cannot apply for early release.
Navalny “an escape-prone prisoner”
In late March, Navalny reported that he had received six reprimands in two weeks in the penal colony, and that a disciplinary commission was considering 20 reports submitted to him. The prison authorities then reminded the opposition that he had worn a T-shirt to meet the lawyers, and that he had refused to listen to a video lecture which he considered “idiotic”.
From the beginning of his sentence, Navalny has been classified in prison as “a prisoner willing to flee”. He sought his exclusion from this category in court, but the courts rejected these complaints.
