The administration of the penal colony in Pokrov has removed the oppositionist Alexei Navalny from the prevention list as “willing to flee”. He was placed in another register as a convict “prone to extremism and terrorism”, the politician reported on Instagram.

A new entry was published on the Instagram of Alexei Navalny, who is serving a 2.5-year prison sentence for allegedly embezzling the funds of the French company Yves Rocher. Colleagues on behalf of the opposition activist informed that that day a commission on Navalny met in the penal colony in Pokrov in the Volodymyr Oblast.

“The operational (officer – editor) sent a report that the convicted Navalny adheres to an extremist and terrorist ideology. It was proposed that Navalny should be entered in the register as an extremist and as a terrorist,” the opposition said on Instagram.

“The news is good. The ‘extremist’ and ‘terrorist’ registers are not as burdensome as ‘inclined to flee’. I counted the sentence ‘Alexei Anatolyevich Navalny, born in 1976, illegally detained at IK-2, ward number 2′” I said 1669 times on the VCR (so every two hours they checked that I hadn’t run away). And I’m already terribly tired of it “- reads an excerpt from the entry.

A new criminal case against Navalny

In late September, the Investigative Committee of Russia opened a new case against Navalny and his associates. The allegations concern the “establishment of an extremist organization” and participation in such structures.

Earlier, the authorities in Moscow recognized the structures associated with Navalny (including the Foundation for Combating Corruption) as organizations “engaged in extremist activity”.
