Residents of four towns in Russia's Lipetsk region were evacuated after a massive nighttime attack by Ukrainian drones, local authorities said. The target of the attack was a military airport. The region's governor, Igor Artamonov, declared a state of emergency.

Russian media reported that Ukrainian drones attacked the Lipetsk region after 3 a.m. (2 a.m. in Poland). The region's governor, Igor Artamonov, said there had been an explosion. He also said that fragments from the drone had damaged an energy facility.

At around 4 a.m., the Russian Emergencies Ministry reported that “a military airport was burning” in Lipetsk.

The authorities decided to evacuate the inhabitants of four towns located closest to the airport.
