In most regions of Ukraine, an air alert was again introduced on Tuesday morning due to the take-off of Tu-95 bombers in Russia. The media reported a series of explosions in Kiev, Rivne and Zaporozhye. A day earlier, Russia launched a massive missile attack on Ukraine. The target was the energy infrastructure.
Ukrainian Air Force Ukraine reported Tuesday morning that several bombers had taken off from Engels Airport in Russia. In subsequent Telegram posts, they provided information on the directions in which the Russian missiles were flying.
Russian missiles were heading towards the Chernihiv, Poltava, Vinnytsia, Mykolaiv and Cherkasy regions, as well as Kiev and Uman.
Later Air Force reports said the missiles were heading towards the Khmelnytskyi and Rivne regions in the western part of the country.
Three series of explosions were heard in Kiev, Reuters reported, citing its sources. Ukrainian portals also reported explosions in Rivne, Zaporizhia and Khmelnytskyi region.
The air force also warned of a drone attack. “A new group of shaheds is approaching from the north of Kherson region to Mykolaiv region,” the statement said, adding that the drones in the north of Mykolaiv region were moving northwest.
Rescue operation in Kryvyi Rih
One person was killed and four were injured in a Russian missile attack on the Aurora hotel in Kryvyi Rih on the night from Monday to Tuesday, local authorities reported.
“A rocket hit a civilian infrastructure building. One woman died. Four people were injured and are already in hospital,” Oleksandr Vikul, head of the Kryvyi Rih Defense Council, wrote on Telegram.
There may be five more people under the rubble. “The rescue operation is ongoing. All rescue, municipal and medical services are working,” Wiłkuł reported at night.
Infrastructure under attack
On Monday morning, there was a massive protest Russia's attack on Ukraineaimed primarily at Ukrainian energy infrastructure, including in the regions bordering Poland. The Russians fired 127 missiles and 109 attack drones, of which 102 missiles and 99 unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down.
