The British Embassy in Russia on Monday denied false reports spread by Russian media that King Charles III died on Sunday as a result of cancer complications.

Multiple Russian news outlets and associated social media accounts reported on Monday – citing unnamed “media sources” – about the alleged death of the 75-year-old British monarch.

They posted a statement on social media intended to suggest that it was issued by Buckingham Palace. It included information about the king's unexpected death on Sunday afternoon as a result of cancer complications.

In response, the British Embassy in Moscow posted an entry on the X platform denying these false messages. In large letters on a red background it was written: “Reports about the death of King Charles of Great Britain are FALSE!” The British Embassy also posted a similar statement Ukraine.
