On the night from Saturday to Sunday drones attacked an oil depot in Rostov region. Russia claimed at the time that the air defense repelled the airstrike, but the remains of one of the drones fell on fuel depot near Proletarsk. The warehouse has been burning ever since.
Russia: Oil depot on fire, thick smoke covers city
Radio Swoboda has obtained satellite photos showing a column of thick black smokefloating above the facility and the nearby city.
The military analyst, known on social media as “MT Anderson,” believes the fire was completely destroyed 14 fuel tanksfour partially damaged, and the remaining 16 are still intact. The losses are difficult to estimate because the object is covered by a thick layer of smoke.
The Ukrayinska Pravda portal notes that the oil depot in the Rostov region it was used for the needs of the Russian army.
Rostov Oblast. State of emergency after oil depot fire
According to the reports, the fire is being fought almost five hundred firefighters. Rostov Oblast Governor Vasyl Golubev said 41 of them were injured, 18 required hospitalization, five of whom are in intensive care.
A state of heightened alert was introduced in the region, and in Proletarsk itself – state of emergency.
