The search for sanctioned Russian oligarch Dmitry Mazepin and his yacht that disappeared from the port of Savona is underway, Italian media reported. Mazepin was last seen in Tuscany, where he was renting a villa in the luxury resort of Forte dei Marmi.

Authorities Italian began looking for Mazepin to officially notify him of the “freezing” of his yacht as part of the sanctions, the Ansa agency explained.
The vessel disappeared a few weeks ago from the port of Savona in Liguria, where it was moored. The yacht is also not in Sardinia, where it was registered. It is not excluded that in Tunisia – according to local media from Tuscany.
The Italian Financial Guard, searching for both the yacht and its owner, found the last trace of Mazepin in Forte dei Marmi, but the villa he rented is empty and he is no longer listed as its tenant.
According to the Italian authorities, the oligarch, a producer of fertilizers with assets estimated at USD 800 million, may already be in Russia.
