The Russian Navy has begun strategic exercises in the Pacific, Arctic Ocean, Mediterranean, Baltic and Caspian Seas, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Tuesday.
More than 400 ships, including submarines, and 90,000 soldiers will take part in the exercises, the release said.
The maneuvers will test, among other things, the readiness of the Russian Navy command to control force groups and comprehensively use precision-guided weapons, as well as expand cooperation with the naval forces of partner countries, the Defense Ministry said.
