Two apartment buildings in St. Petersburg, Russia, were damaged, probably as a result of the fall of a downed Ukrainian drone, Reuters reported.

On Saturday morning, an explosion occurred in the north-east of St. Petersburg, damaging two apartment blocks.

The city’s governor, Aleksander Beglow, admitted that an “incident” had occurred, but did not provide any details. He reported that there were no casualties, but all residents had been evacuated.

– I opened the window and immediately heard a whistle, then a bang and an explosion. The window blew out and smoke got inside, said Elena, one of the tenants. Russian media, cited by Reuters, reported that the probable cause was the shooting down of a Ukrainian drone that targeted a nearby fuel depot. However, this information has not yet been confirmed by official sources.
