Russia. Terrorist attack near Moscow. White House: Islamic State is a common terrorist enemy

The terrorist organization Islamic State is a common enemy that must be defeated everywhere, White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre said in a statement. Adrienne Watson, spokeswoman for the US National Security Council, also spoke. She confirmed that earlier this month the US government provided Russia with information about a planned attack in Moscow.

“America condemns in the strongest terms the heinous terrorist attack in Moscow,” wrote US President Joe Biden's spokeswoman, referring to attack in Krasnogorsk near Moscow, which was admitted by the so-called Islamic State. She added that IS is a “common terrorist enemy that must be defeated everywhere.”

“We convey our deepest condolences to those who have lost loved ones and to those who have been injured or affected by this inexcusable attack on innocent civilians,” said Karine Jean-Pierre.

Earlier, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken expressed condolences to the families of the victims of the attack.

Adrienne Watson, spokeswoman for the US National Security Council, also spoke on the matter. He said that “Islamic State bears sole responsibility for this attack” and “Ukrainians were not involved at all.”

She confirmed that earlier this month the govt The US provided Russia with information about the planned attack in Moscow, and on March 7 issued an official warning to Americans staying in Russia.

Attack near Moscow

Armed attackers attacked the Crocus City Hall concert hall in Krasnogorsk near Moscow on Friday. They opened fire on those gathered, and there were also reports of explosions. A fire broke out and the roof of the building collapsed. At least 133 people have been confirmed dead so far. Responsibility for the attack was taken by the so-called Islamic State.

Russian authorities claim that four perpetrators of the attack have been captured and they are not Russian citizens.
