The Moscow District Court imposed a fine on Stanislav Netesov. The man was convicted because of his hair color resembling the Ukrainian flag. The incident was intended to “discredit” the Russian army.

The panel of judges adopted an appropriate resolution on May 3. The imposed penalty was 50 thousand rubles. This is equivalent to 553 US dollars.

Russia. A bizarre court decision

The 25-year-old became a victim of the activities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs office in the Tver region. On April 28, he submitted a report to this institution about assault and theft. Netesov was allegedly attacked at a bus stop in Moscow.

The services noticed the specific appearance of the reporting person. His hair – according to the officers – symbolized Ukraine.

Russia. “Agitation” for Ukraine. It was about the hairstyle

“Netesov, in a public place, demonstrated a means of visual propaganda in the form of dyed hair with colorful yellow and blue stripes,” the police wrote in a statement, which was then sent to the court. This manifestation of “agitation” was considered a hostile action against the Russian military.

The 25-year-old's explanations were of no use. The man argued that he “didn't want to express anything” with his hairstyle and had been dyeing his hair light colors for several years. Ultimately, the judge did not take into account the defendant's translation.
