Vladimir Putin's words are quoted by AFP. The Russian dictator said on Thursday that there is no reason for Russians to worry about the decline in the value of the ruble.

Russia. The ruble is sinking, Vladimir Putin is trying to calm down

The Russian president assessed that the decline in the value of the ruble, which analysts associate with invasion Russia to Ukraine and the sanctions imposed on Moscow for this reason, was in fact caused by “seasonal factors” and “budget payments”.

Let us recall that this week the value of the Russian ruble has decreased to the lowest level since March 2022when the first weeks of Moscow's full-scale aggression were underway.

On Wednesday, one dollar paid 107 rubles for the American dollar or 113 for the euro. For comparison, a few weeks ago, the US dollar cost about 100 rubles, and in mid-2024 it will be slightly over 80.

It was not only Putin who reacted to the difficult situation. He has already taken specific actions Russian central bank – it was decided to suspend the purchase of foreign currencies until the end of the year and increase the sale of yuan (Chinese currency – ed.).

As Putin assessed, the president-elect is an “experienced and intelligent politician.” He also wondered whether the Republican was currently safe after the attempts on his life. He also declared that Russia is ready for dialogue with the US, reports Reuters.
