Russia wants to change the border in the Baltic Sea. Finland reacts

The Russian Ministry of Defense has proposed revising the boundaries of Russian territorial waters in the Baltic Sea, Reuters reported, citing a document from the government in Moscow. Finland, a new NATO member, has already reacted to this.

In accordance with the regulation of May 21, the Ministry of Defense Russia proposed adjusting the border around Russian islands in the eastern part of the Gulf of Finland and around the Königsberg Oblast, Reuters reported on Wednesday.

“The rules regarding the crossing of the maritime state border of the Russian Federation will change,” the document states.

Reacting to the Kremlin's decision, Elina Valtonen, the foreign minister of Finland, a recent member FOR THISstated that Russia should respect the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.
