The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Radosław Sikorski, talked with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg. According to the Ministry of Diplomacy, he informed it about the details of the violation of Polish airspace by a Russian cruise missile and about the procedures initiated in this context.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that the head of Polish diplomacy emphasized that this is “another case when the actions of Russia, continuing its unjustified and brutal aggression against Ukraine, also threaten the security of NATO member states.”

As the Ministry of Foreign Affairs added, during the conversation “ways to strengthen the security of Polish and allied airspace were also discussed.”

According to the Ministry of Diplomacy, the topic of Sikorski and Stoltenberg's conversation was also the upcoming meeting of NATO foreign ministers, which will be devoted to preparations for the NATO summit in Washington in July this year.

The summoned Russian ambassador did not come to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

In monday morning Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski in a conversation with journalists, he pointed out that the violation of Polish airspace by a Russian missile was another such incident. – It is absolutely unacceptable. We will demand explanations, but we will probably get some demagoguery, Sikorski said. Also on Monday morning, the Russian ambassador to Poland, Sergei Andreev, was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. However, the ambassador did not appear at the Ministry of Diplomacyand Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman Paweł Wroński said that a diplomatic note requesting clarification on the violation of Polish airspace will be sent to the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs via another route.
