Three more people linked to the case of spying for Russia have been arrested. Earlier, in the investigation of the Internal Security Agency and the Lublin department of the National Prosecutor’s Office, six people were temporarily arrested.

Information about the temporary arrest of three more people was confirmed by the Press Department of the National Prosecutor’s Office of the Polish Press Agency. “The court fully shared the position of the prosecutor, granted the requests and imposed three months’ detention on remand for three months,” PK reported.

Earlier, in the ABW investigation into a network of spies suspected of collaborating with the Russian special services, six people were temporarily arrested. In total, nine people are under temporary arrest in this case.

Boss on Thursday MIA and the minister coordinator of special services Mariusz Kamiński confirmed the information that the Internal Security Agency had broken up a spy network acting for Russia. – In recent days, the Internal Security Agency has detained nine people suspected of collaborating with the Russian special services. The suspects conducted intelligence activities against Poland and prepared acts of sabotage at the request of Russian intelligence, the minister said. He also noted that the detainees were foreigners from across the eastern border.

As the minister informed, the evidence indicates that a group of suspects monitored railway routes. – Her tasks included, among others, recognizing, monitoring and documenting transports with weapons carried out for Ukraine. The suspects were also preparing for sabotage actions aimed at paralyzing the supply of equipment, weapons and aid to Ukraine, he stressed.

After the arrest, the suspects in this case were brought to the Lublin Branch of the Department for Organized Crime and Corruption of the National Prosecutor’s Office in Lublin, which supervises the ABW investigation. “The prosecutor presented the detainees with allegations of participation in an organized criminal group and conducting activities for foreign intelligence against the Republic of Poland” – the Press Department of the National Prosecutor’s Office informed earlier.

The suspects face up to 10 years in prison for the alleged acts.
