Russians began receiving mass text messages urging them to enlist in the military. “Sign a contract with the Ministry of Defense: 800,000 rubles and benefits right away,” independent websites quote the text message as saying. 800,000 rubles is about 37,000 złoty.
Russia has serious staff shortages. “For Putin, it would be a disaster”
For several weeks now, military analysts have been reporting that Russia has serious personnel shortages on the front and cannot find volunteers to participate in the invasion of Ukraine. Partial mobilization and roundups organized by Russian services do not meet the army's needs. At the same time, analysts point out that Vladimir Putin is afraid to announce general mobilization. This is also the opinion of a long-time correspondent “Gazeta Wyborcza” in Russia Wacław Radziwinowicz. – For Putin it would be a disaster, because the Russians would finally see that there is a war and they can end up where they don't want to end up – adds the journalist. According to calculations by the General Staff of Ukraine, over the two-year invasion, Russia lost about 578 thousand soldiers, counting those killed, maimed and taken prisoner.
Russian seaborne oil exports plummet. Ukraine attacks Russian storage facilities
This is not the end of bad news for Russia. As reported Bloombergexport crude oil from Russian ports on the Baltic and Black Seas fell in July to its lowest level in almost a year. In July, exports fell to around 1.8 million barrels per day. A month earlier, it amounted to approximately 2.2 million barrels. This translated into the global level of export of the raw material. World supplies in July decreased by about 586 thousand barrels per day, compared with June. Lower levels of crude oil supplies from Russia were partially offset by growth in the two largest exporters, Saudi Arabia and the United States.
Meanwhile, Ukraine has been systematically attacking Russian oil depots and fuel plants. On Saturday, Ukrainians attacked the Morozovsk airport in the Rostov region, as well as ammunition depots, where, among other things, guided air missiles were located. General Staff Armed Forces Ukraine reported that oil depots and fuel plants in three Russian regions were also hit: Belgorod, Kursk and Rostov regions. At least two tanks with petroleum products burned down. In addition, according to Ukrinform, Ukrainians destroyed an electrical substation in the city of Tikhoretsk in the Krasnodar Territory in Russia.
