RTE says it has no plans to deliver again Eire’s largest TV star after negotiations with him broke down.

Ryan Tubridy has been on the centre of an argument over the below declaration of his wage by €345,000 (£295,000) between 2017 and 2022.

The revelation sparked a backlash in opposition to the presenter – already the Irish broadcaster’s highest-paid star with a wage of €440,000 (£375,500) in 2021 – as a result of they got here at a time at which the cash-strapped broadcaster was making cuts elsewhere.

RTE director-general Kevin Bakhurst says Tubridy won’t return to the channel after belief between the events had “damaged down”.
