Ryanair boss Michael O’Leary has been hit within the face with cream pies by environmental protesters.

The airline chief laughed – and sarcastically remarked “effectively carried out” – after two girls splattered him outdoors the European Fee headquarters in Brussels on Thursday lunchtime.

Video footage confirmed that the primary lady approached Mr O’Leary – after which mentioned “welcome [to] Belgium” earlier than she smeared the dessert in his face.

She then shouted: “cease the air pollution of the f****** planes” as a second lady threw one other pie in his face.

The pair then walked off.

It got here as Mr O’Leary, who was unhurt, was getting ready to carry a press convention and hand in a petition to fee president Ursula von der Leyen.

He tried to chortle off the incident afterwards, telling reporters: “I like cream muffins, they’re my favorite.”

The airline boss later added: “Scrumptious cake, is there any extra?”

Mr O’Leary mentioned greater than 1.5 million folks had signed his petition, which requires flights over Europe to be higher shielded from air site visitors management strikes.

It comes following disruption to flights earlier this summer time as a result of industrial motion in France, which forced the airline to cancel 900 journeys in June.

Ryanair later uploaded a photograph of the incident on X, previously generally known as Twitter, and mentioned: “Disgrace it was soy-based cream, positively not as tasty as the actual stuff.”
